The Chief of Staff to the CEO at tonies is not just a role; it’s a mission to inspire, lead, and drive the global strategy that will catapult us into the next stage of our journey. This pivotal position offers the rare opportunity to work at the heart of innovation and play a key role in shaping the future of children's digital education and entertainment. Additionally to your CoS responsibilities, you will lead our Strategy Department (a team of 3-4 top-tier strategy managers) as well as our internal Board Office.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Serve as a strategic linchpin, offering robust support and counsel to the CEO, while ensuring our strategic vision aligns with operational execution.
  • Lead the tonies Strategy Department, steering a team of highly qualified consultants to drive global initiatives and market expansion.
  • Facilitate communication and information flow between the CEO, the tonies Leadership Team (TLT) and other executives, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
  • Serve as a vital link between the CEO and the Supervisory Board, aiding in the preparation and presentation of strategic initiatives, progress reports and regular supervisory board meetings.
  • Assist the tonies Investor Relations team in communicating the CEO's vision and company strategy, ensuring that the perspectives of the capital markets are integrated into our corporate actions.
  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives globally, from conception to execution, aligning them with the company’s growth objectives. Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement.
  • Drive operational excellence across the organization, implementing best practices and continuous improvement processes.
  • Coordinate with all departments to ensure the CEO’s vision is communicated and implemented effectively.
  • Manage the CEO’s internal and external communications in collaboration with tonies’ communications department, including speech writing and preparing presentations.
  • Accompany or represent the CEO in meetings, site visits and events as required, acting as an ambassador for the company’s mission and values.
  • Willing to travel globally and to be in the Düsseldorf office 2–3 times per week, fostering effective communication and collaboration with team members.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and innovation, upholding tonies’ reputation as a leader in the children's edutainment sector.
What we are looking for:
  • 8–10 years experience in a strategic leadership role, ideally within a high-growth international technology or (children’s) entertainment company and/or highly lauded work background at top-tier management consultancies with a proven record of driving growth and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional ability to think analytically and strategically, with a knack for turning complex challenges into simple solutions.
  • Superior communication and leadership skills, capable of inspiring a team of strategy consultants and aligning diverse groups towards common goals.
  • Noticeable creativity and ambition, thriving within a constructive, multicultural and multinational team environment.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Excellent German and English skills.
