As our first Analytics Engineer, you will join our Data Platform & AI team where you will amplify the value that our company derives from our data by streamlining our data operations, enhancing our data quality and reliability, and improving our query performance.

• Collaboration and support: you will work closely with other data professionals and business stakeholders to understand their data needs
• Data modelling: you will design and create reusable data models that enable others to build impactful dashboards and machine learning models on top of them
• Ensuring data quality and integrity: you will implement data validation checks, promote data quality within our team and the company, and support data contract negotiations
• Performance Optimization: you will continuously monitor and tune low performing SQL queries and data models
• Coaching and mentoring: you will teach other data professionals to write efficient SQL queries and to build reusable data models

• Engineering mindset: you care deeply about the quality of your code and your data models and aim to achieve highest standards along various dimensions like readability, reusability, reliability, correctness, availability, and efficiency
• Professional experience: you have 5+ years of experience working as an analytics engineer or data engineer building and maintaining data warehouses leveraging dimensional modelling techniques by Kimball and star schemas
• Analytical mindset: you have a strong analytical mindset, prioritize understanding our business, and use this understanding to inform your data model designs to maximize the impact of your work
• Tool experience: you have relevant working experience with the modern data stack, i.e. ELT, and can quickly become productive with our tools (Snowflake, dbt)
• Programming experience: your SQL code is on expert level, i.e. comprehensive, well tested, easy to read, and highly efficient; documentation of the entire development process is a must for you
• People skills: you make it a habit to continuously improve your work and your collaboration with your colleagues, care deeply for the experience of your users, are highly effective when work autonomously, and value feedback highly
