Are you a seasoned procurement professional with expertise in managing indirect
procurement services, specifically within IT-related commodities? We’re seeking a
Strategic Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, negotiating, and managing
suppliers across a diverse range of IT-related categories such as software, hardware,
IT consulting services, cloud services, and telecom. In this role, you will develop and
implement cost-effective procurement strategies, collaborate with IT stakeholders
globally, and optimize supplier relationships to achieve the company’s strategic
goals.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for indirect IT-related commodities, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT department requirements.
  • Manage the sourcing, selection, and onboarding of suppliers for IT categories such as software licensing, hardware procurement, cloud solutions, IT support services, telecom, and other technology-related services.
  • Conduct supplier selection processes, including RFPs, contract negotiation, and service level agreement (SLA) development, to achieve optimal value and performance.
  • Collaborate with global IT teams to understand their technology needs and provide procurement expertise to optimize vendor selection and service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key IT suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships and ensuring effective contract and performance management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and value creation in IT procurement while staying aligned with technology advancements and innovations.
  • Stay informed of market trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments to ensure the procurement strategy remains competitive and forward-looking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards in all procurement activities and supplier relationships.
  • Drive supplier performance management by conducting evaluations, providing feedback, and ensuring continuous improvement in supplier services.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, finance, and legal departments to align procurement activities with broader company objectives.
What we are looking for:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Procurement, or a related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in indirect procurement, with a strong focus on IT-related commodities.
  • Proven track record in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost-saving initiatives within a global procurement environment.
  • In-depth understanding of IT procurement categories, including software licensing, hardware, cloud services, IT consulting, and telecommunications.
  • Experience with international procurement and familiarity with e-procurement tools and procurement management systems.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills with the ability to secure favorable terms in complex IT agreements.

Skills:
  • Fluency in German and English is required.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders, particularly IT and finance teams.
  • Analytical expertise with experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple procurement initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
