We are seeking an experienced Linux System Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust infrastructure for our global manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll ensure 24/7 system reliability, optimize performance across on-premise and AWS environments, and drive the scalability of our production systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll help shape system architecture, establish best practices, and ensure security and compliance. Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Design and implement infrastructure and networking solutions for production systems in both on-premise and AWS environments
Contribute to system design and architecture decisions for production systems, ensuring performance
Ensure 24/7 operational reliability and manage the health of key infrastructure components
Collaborate with engineers and SREs to design scalable system solutions as well as maintain security and compliance in our production infrastructure
Develop infrastructure automation with tools like Ansible
Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing for system observability
Create and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions
Provide technical support and troubleshooting across time zones with production and engineering teams
Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot system performance across infrastructure layers
Establish and follow best practices for infrastructure to ensure consistent team implementation
Keep infrastructure documentation up to date and aligned with best practices

What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field
7+ years of work experience in Linux system administration and engineering, preferably with Debian/Ubuntu
Strong expertise in infrastructure automation and configuration management (e.g., Ansible)
Experience operating and optimizing hybrid production environments (on-premise and AWS)
In-depth knowledge of networking technologies and security (TCP/IP, VPN, routing, firewalls, system hardening)
Hands-on experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger)
Proven ability to design and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure systems
Experience with disaster recovery strategies and backup systems
Strong scripting skills in Shell (Bash) and Python for automation
Excellent communication skills and experience working with international, cross-functional teams
