You as part of tonies:
At tonies, storytelling is at the heart of everything we do. Our success isn’t just about innovative technology and creative ideas – it’s about the passionate, talented people who bring those stories to life. As we continue to scale, we are looking for an Expert People Development to drive global people development initiatives that support growth, strengthen leadership, and shape the future of work at tonies. In this role you will report into the CHRO.

In this role, you’ll design and implement frameworks, strategies, and programs that enable employees and leaders to thrive. You’ll be a key architect of our global people growth framework, leadership development, and succession planning – ensuring we are building the right capabilities today for the success of tomorrow.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, transformation, and people growth, while maintaining a hands-on, pragmatic approach – and who is ready to make a lasting mark on the future of our organization.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and implementing a global people development strategy: You will shape and drive a global people development strategy that empowers employee growth, builds critical skills, and strengthens organizational capabilities. Alongside defining the strategy, you’ll design and deliver trainings yourself, coordinate external development initiatives and maintain and leverage tools that align with business priorities and inspire continuous learning across the organization.
  • Driving holistic leadership development: You will create, implement, and coordinate leadership development initiatives tailored to different leadership levels, ensuring tonies builds a strong, future-ready leadership bench.
  • People growth framework development: You will own and continuously advance our global People Growth Framework, ensuring it remains aligned with job levels and evolving organizational needs. You’ll be a key driver in embedding the framework across the organization, making it a practical tool that empowers employees, managers, and leaders alike.
  • Fostering a culture of feedback: You will enhance global processes around performance feedback, further introducing tools, practices, and interventions that embed a culture of openness, candor, and constructive dialogue.
  • Talent & succession management: You will lead and refine global processes for talent and succession management, helping us keep our talents engaged and maintain a strong and diverse leadership pipeline that secures our long-term success.
  • Measuring learning & development success: You will establish and track clear metrics to evaluate the effectiveness, quality, and business impact of all development initiatives. You’ll use these insights to refine and innovate our approaches, ensuring they deliver measurable value for both employees and the organization.
  • Driving strong collaboration with People Partners: You will act as a connector and enabler between People Development and People Partnering globally. By ensuring People Development concepts are aligned with business needs, you will empower People Partners to implement frameworks and initiatives with tangible impact in their areas.
What we are looking for:
  • Multiple years of experience in people development in global, fast-paced environments: You have at least 7 years of experience in learning & development. You have worked in international, high-growth organizations where you successfully designed and delivered impactful people development initiatives.
  • Big-picture, systemic, and conceptual thinker: You view the organization holistically and design programs, and initiatives that are interconnected and aligned with both business priorities and long-term people development needs.
  • Hands-on program delivery: You’re not only a strategist—you actively design, facilitate, and coordinate learning initiatives.
  • Data-driven and impact-oriented: You use metrics and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and are skilled at translating insights into actionable improvements.
  • Stakeholder collaboration and influence: You collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and build trust through strong support and reliability. You influence by combining empathy with clarity and business focus.
  • Language and communication skills: You are fluent in English, German is a plus. You communicate clearly and adapt your style to diverse audiences and contexts.
  • Flexibility for global collaboration: You thrive in an international setup and are comfortable with occasional cross-time-zone meetings.
Why tonies?
  • Global Teamwork: We collaborate across departmental and country borders on our vision to bring the Toniebox into every child's room in the world.

  • Mobility: Choose the option that suits you best - a Deutschlandticket (public transport ticket) for unlimited mobility, a monthly contribution for an office parking space, a leasing bicycle, or a remote work subsidy.
  • Enhanced Security: Benefit from subsidies for company pension plans, occupational pension schemes, and occupational disability insurance.
  • Rest & Time Off: Enjoy 30 days of paid annual leave as well as three additional days off such as Rosenmontag, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. After one year of employment, you can also use up to 10 "toniecation days" (unpaid leave days).
  • Continuous Learning: Benefit from our internal and external training opportunities as well as an individual learning budget to continuously expand your knowledge.
