You as part of tonies:

At tonies, storytelling is at the heart of everything we do. Our success isn't just about innovative technology and creative ideas – it's about the passionate, talented people who bring those stories to life.

As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a People Partner to join our journey and contribute to shaping our next chapter. In this role, you will report to the Head of People Partnering & People Operations and work hand in hand with a Senior People Partner to support your assigned business area – ensuring our people leaders and teams are set up for success every day.

You will be the go-to partner for mid-level managers and their teams, offering operational guidance, coaching, and employee support that drives engagement and positively impacts performance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, developmental HR partnering role and wants to grow towards a more strategic position over time.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Partnering with people managers to enable great leadership: You’ll partner closely with mid-level and first-time managers, supporting them in developing strong leadership practices. You’ll act as a sparring partner and coach for everyday management challenges such as feedback, performance, and career conversations – helping leaders create environments where their teams can thrive.
  • Supporting organizational effectiveness and change: You’ll work side-by-side with your Senior People Partner to bring people and organizational changes to life. While the Senior Partner steers changes from a People & culture perspective, you’ll provide input and support its execution - ensuring clear communication, smooth transitions, and strong alignment between teams and company goals.
  • Driving core people processes with excellence: You’ll take ownership of the execution of core people cycles such as performance feedback or salary reviews for your assigned area. You’ll help managers understand the “why” behind each process and make sure they are implemented consistently and with care.
  • Championing employee experience: You’ll be the first point of contact for employees in your business area -listening, advising, and supporting with empathy and clarity. Whether through formal conversations or informal coffee chats, you’ll maintain a close connection to the employee experience and share insights to continuously improve an engaging working environment.
  • Navigating employee relations with fairness and care: You’ll manage employee relations cases for your area, ensuring each is handled thoughtfully, fairly, and in alignment with our values and legal standards. For more complex or sensitive cases, you’ll work closely with your Senior People Partner and the People Operations team.
  • Enabling Seamless Global People Operations: You will collaborate with our German people operations team as well as local market P&C managers across countries to ensure smooth, compliant processes for employees within your area, within and outside of Germany. You’ll ensure that we maintain accurate employee data and local practices align with global standards.
  • Collaborating with our Center of Expertise: You’ll work closely with colleagues from Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, and People Development to ensure a seamless and consistent people experience across the company. You’ll also collaborate and share knowledge with fellow People Partners across business areas to continuously improve how we work.
What we are looking for:
  • Multiple years experience as a People Partner in global, scaling environments: You multiple years of experience in HR, including specific experience as a People Partner in a fast-paced, ideally international environment.
  • Solid HR expertise: You have a solid understanding of HR processes, German employment law, and the employee lifecycle. Experience with other countries’ employment standards (e.g., UK, US) is a plus.
  • Coaching mindset and people focus: You’re passionate about supporting people managers to grow and develop. You listen actively, ask great questions, and know how to guide others to find effective solutions.
  • Business Acumen and Curiosity: You are eager to understand how different business areas operate and what drives their success. You connect people topics to business needs and tailor your support accordingly — always keeping an eye on what helps teams and leaders deliver their best work.
  • Collaborative team player: You’re a connector at heart – you build trust easily, collaborate well across all levels, and appreciate the value of partnership, both with managers and your Senior People Partner.
  • Ownership and Problem-Solving Mindset: You anticipate challenges and understand how people, processes, and structures interconnect. You take full ownership of your area and act with a solution-oriented, hands-on mindset — ensuring leaders and employees receive proactive, reliable, and thoughtful support.
  • Language and Communication Skills: You are fluent in English and  German. You communicate clearly and adapt your style to suit your audience and context.
  • Flexibility for Global Collaboration: You thrive working in an international setup and don’t mind occasional early evening meetings to stay connected with US-based colleagues.
Why tonies?
  • Global Teamwork: We collaborate across departmental and country borders on our vision to bring the Toniebox into every child's room in the world.
  • Come as you are: This applies not only to the dress code but also to everything else. Because only where you truly feel comfortable can you give your best.
  • Mobility: Choose the option that suits you best - a Deutschlandticket (public transport ticket) for unlimited mobility, a monthly contribution for an office parking space, a leasing bicycle, or a remote work subsidy.
  • Enhanced Security: Benefit from subsidies for company pension plans, occupational pension schemes, and occupational disability insurance.
  • Rest & Time Off: Enjoy 30 days of paid annual leave as well as three additional days off such as Rosenmontag, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. After one year of employment, you can also use up to 10 "toniecation days" (unpaid leave days).
  • Continuous Learning: Benefit from our internal and external training opportunities as well as an individual learning budget to continuously expand your knowledge.
  • Language Learning & Relaxation: Improve your communication skills with the language learning app Babbel and find relaxation through our access to the meditation app Calm.
  • Discounts: Benefit from attractive discounts on our entire range of tonies products.
