You as part of tonies:
As a Strategic Direct Procurement Buyer (Above the Box) (all genders), you play a vital role in evolving our global sourcing organization. You ensure that our procurement processes are resilient, agile, and built on strong partnerships. Working closely with our Sourcing Hub in Asia, you help shape category strategies and guide the RfQ processfrom initial market analysis to successful awarding.

In your role as an Innovation Buyer, you are a key partner to Product Development. By engaging in the earliest stages of ideation, you facilitate early supplier involvement, ensuring technical feasibility and cost transparency are integrated into our products from day one.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Strategic Roadmapping: Support the creation of sourcing strategies for critical parts and "above-the-box" projects. You will transform high-level procurement goals into actionable roadmaps, standards, and streamlined processes.
  • Global Partnership: Act as the primary bridge to our Asia Sourcing Hub. You will facilitate the implementation of sourcing strategies and RfQ activities, ensuring that cost, quality, and resilience targets are met through insightful analytical support.
  • Innovation & Early Involvement: Serve as a strategic partner to Product Development from the earliest ideation stages. You will enable early supplier involvement and ensure technical feasibility is balanced with our long-term sourcing goals.
  • Market Intelligence & Risk Resilience: Conduct thorough market research and risk assessments to identify emerging trends and alternative sourcing opportunities. You will proactively manage supply chain health by identifying "single-source" risks and life-cycle challenges (EOL).
  • Cross-Functional Harmony: Foster transparent communication and alignment across Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain. You ensure that HQ's strategic vision and the Sourcing Hub’s execution are perfectly synchronized.

What we are looking for:
  • A degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement or category management, ideally within a manufacturing or consumer goods environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex BOMs and develop risk mitigation strategies, including second-sourcing and stocking agreements.
  • A solid understanding of global sourcing markets and the nuances of international supplier qualification and RfQ processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build consensus across different functions and global regions.
  • Fluency in English & conversational level (B2+) in German
  • You enjoy occasional international travel (approx. 20–30%) and value a hybrid work setup in Düsseldorf.
