As Operations & Demand Planner, you will own end-to-end demand planning and core operations execution for the Australian & New Zealand market, balancing forecast accuracy, inventory health, and service level. The role connects local commercial plans to global supply decisions via a dotted-line interlock with the central office in Düsseldorf.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Demand Planning: Build and maintain rolling weekly/monthly forecasts at SKU/channel level (Retail, eCommerce, Marketplace). Integrate POS/sell-through data, promotional plans, seasonality, and product lifecycles to optimize forecast accuracy and bias.

  • Supply Chain Execution & Risk Mitigation: Translate demand into supply signals for Düsseldorf and manufacturing partners. Proactively manage stock risks through substitutions, rebalancing, and controlled allocations while monitoring end-to-end inbound flows (Ocean/Air, Customs, DC-delivery).
  • Logistics & 3PL Partnership: Collaborate with 3PL and logistics providers to ensure warehouse accuracy, timely dispatch, and smooth peak execution. Focus on inbound lead-time reliability and the reduction of expedited freight.
  • Process & Data Excellence: Maintain ERP/planning tool integrity (e.g., Business Central/SAP) and master data hygiene. Drive automation in reporting (POS ingestion, dashboards) and establish clear SOPs for forecast sign-offs and exception management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central interface for Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Global Supply Chain. Provide decision-ready insights on promotion feasibility, stock commitments, and margin impacts.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Service Excellence: Service Level / Fill Rate, OTIF performance, and Stockout/Backorder exposure.
  • Inventory Efficiency: Inventory Turns, Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO), and Aged/Obsolete stock reduction.
  • Operational Reliability: Inbound Lead-time Reliability and Expedited Freight reduction.
What we are looking for:
  • Professional Experience: 7+ years in Demand/Supply Planning, Inventory Control, or Retail Operations (FMCG, Consumer Electronics, or Toys).

  • Planning Expertise: Strong background in POS data analysis, promotional uplift modelling, and lifecycle planning (NPI/EOL).
  • Operational Logic: Expert in balancing commercial growth with working capital, service levels, and 3PL/import logistics.
  • Communication & Matrix: Ability to align local stakeholders (Sales, Finance) and global teams (Düsseldorf) on risks and actions.
  • Mindset: Structured problem-solver who excels in ambiguous environments and builds processes from scratch.
