You as part of tonies:

As Quality Compliance Manager (all genders), you take end-to-end ownership of product compliance and product safety across our entire product portfolio. You translate international regulations and standards into concrete, buildable requirements, and you secure testing, certification and market approvals on schedule, focusing on proactive prevention and compliance assurance.

You'll work closely with test laboratories, certification bodies as well as our Product Development, Product Quality and Legal teams - spotting compliance gaps early and turning regulatory requirements into practical guidance that every team can act on.

As we expand our product portfolio internationally and prepare for upcoming regulatory developments, we are particularly seeking strong expertise in Electrical Safety and Cyber Security, along with experience navigating new market entries in the EU and/or the Americas.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Product Compliance & Safety
  • Own product compliance and product safety for all product categories, across every phase of the product development process.
  • Translate international regulations (e.g. chemical, mechanical, electrical, radio, packaging) into buildable specifications, so compliance is designed in from the start.
  • Ensure technical documentation (technical file, risk assessment, declaration of conformity) maintained by the responsible departments stays complete, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.
  • Track regulatory changes and keep testing and labeling matrices current, so launches run smoothly without late-stage compliance surprises.
Electrical Safety & Cyber Security
  • Act as the go-to expert for electrical safety, ensuring relevant standards and certification processes are integrated into product development from the start.
  • Bring cyber security expertise to get ahead of upcoming regulatory requirements for connected products (e.g. the Cyber Resilience Act) before they become mandatory.
Market Access & International Expansion
  • Secure regulatory clearance and labeling for new markets, so international expansion is never delayed by open compliance items.
  • Bring proven experience in navigating new market entries in the EU and/or the Americas, positioning the company for regulatory readiness and future growth.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to cross-functional global teams, proactively integrating regulatory requirements into the early design phases to ensure global market readiness.
Collaboration & Escalation
  • Act as the day-to-day interface to test laboratories, certification bodies, and suppliers, keeping compliance decisions moving without delay.
  • Develop and implement global compliance processes that educate regional teams and partners on best practices, ensuring consistent compliance standards across all operating regions.
  • Keep the line organization updated on global compliance developments and proactively drive risk prevention and mitigate risks to safeguard our high quality and safety standards.

What we are looking for:

Education & Experience
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in product compliance or product safety, ideally in a consumer electronics or connected product environment. Experience in Quality Management is an asset.
  • Solid hands-on experience in Electrical Safety, including relevant standards and certification processes.
  • Experience in Cyber Security and the related regulatory requirements for connected products.
  • Experience with international market entries and regulatory approval processes.
Skills & Competencies
  • Structured, meticulous way of working with a strong sense of ownership for safety and compliance.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements for cross-functional teams in a clear and practical way.
  • Strong communication skills and confident stakeholder management (test laboratories, certification bodies, authorities).
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, staying agile and flexible as priorities shift.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and German. Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
